Our Wedding- September 2026
What to Pack
What to make sure you pack when you join us for this adventure!

Packing for Alaska
Layers are key! The weather here can change from rain to sunshine in the blink of an eye. We stay quite a bit cooler here, with the September avg. being 55 degrees, and lots of rainy days. Don't let the rain get you down. We are used to it here, and the adventure must go on. A light rain jacket, layered over a hoodie and warm clothes may be enough for our guests who are more acclimated to the chilly weather. Mosquitos are less of an issue in September, but they are still very prevalent so you may want bug spray, long-sleeve layers will not stop them. The UV index is pretty low, but sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended. If you plan to go on any hiking adventures, make sure you pack hiking boots/shoes or rainboots, best if they are waterproof.
In the Bag...
Outerwear
Recommended that you have a water resistant outer layer. Sweatshirts are a great idea for layering. Gloves and Hat may be a good idea for guests not used to the cold. Sunglasses.
Clothing
Layers, layers, layers. The temperature can be chilly, or ridiculously hot all in the same day. Make sure you have layers so you can keep comfortable when out adventuring. Long sleeve under shirt layer is a good idea, the mosquitos here can and will get you through 1 layer of tight cloth. The best defense from mosquitos is a tight under layer, and a looser thicker over layer. Make sure you have an extra outfit incase you get soaked and don't want the adventure to stop yet. Hoodies are great as they can be layered, and offer some head and neck protection from mosquitos.
Shoes
Tennis shoes or comfortable walking shoes are recommended. If you have a pair of water resistant shoes those are a good idea. If you plan to go hiking, or gold-panning you will need hiking shoes or rain boots. Sandals are a good option incase we do get some nice sunshine.
Miscellaneous
Bug spray! Aerosol will not be allowed on the plane. Camera and extra battery. Binoculars if wanted. Small snacks for the trip and driving, bringing them with may be a great money saving idea. Water bottle to fill. Please take care to pack your medications, in or with their original bottles. Airlines can get a little picky when it comes to flying with medications. This is usually only an issue if they are in a pill organizer, or something that is not their labeled bottle. In order to avoid any possible seizure of medications, make sure you have their original bottle. Do NOT plan to fill prescriptions upon arrival to Alaska. The pharmacy here in understaffed, and has very limited medications and often times has outages, transfer/sending issues, that could prevent you from being able to fill it. External battery pack/charger.

Laundry Facilities
Keystone Hotel does have a coin-op guest laundry facility. Laundry soap and dryer sheets for sale, available via the front desk.
